User Inspired Music Posts from Instagram

If you read last week’s blog post then you will know we are carrying on with your countdowns from Instagram. Last week is was about holidays, this week it is about music since recently a lot of bands have announced new tours. As always if you want to be featured on any of our User Inspired posts just use the #countdownplus or #countdown on all social media channels.

Right so first up is, @rachelpotts_ who is off to see Ed Sheeran next year, in Newcastle. So if you aren’t aware just last weekend he released brand new tickets for his 2018 tour. Ever since his year-long hiatus, he has been releasing new music and been busy touring for most of 2017 and doing the rounds of the festival circuit too. As of the past couple of years, his tours tend to sell out fast. We did some digging ourselves and when tickets were announced you could still get seats but obviously very high up in the arena and for a reasonable price of around £55. If you didn’t see it on Twitter, you may have seen the backlash of the price of tickets for a good view of him was going for £80 which to some was rather unreasonable. Apart from that, from what we have heard in the past he is someone who is amazing to see live, so if you were one of the lucky ones who got themselves tickets then you should be in for a real treat. He has announced new dates for his tour so make sure you follow him on Instagram for more updates on his tour.

Next up is @laurajaynedarling who is off to see Harry Styles in November in Glasgow. If you weren’t aware Harry Styles along with a lot of old One Direction boys has released new music. Shortly after he released new music he decided to go on tour. This is his first ever solo tour so will be interesting to see how he performs alone on stage without the One Direction boys. Sign of the Times was his first solo track and managed to rack up 88 Million views on the music video on YouTube. It managed to get to No.1 here in the UK. His album Harry Styles managed to reach No.1 in the UK and the US which is amazing. We can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of him on tour and for new music in the future from him as well. Unfortunately, he has sold out for most of his tour, we did some digging around ourselves and you can get tickets but it’s very rare and the seats won’t be as good so maybe expect to travel further for tickets.

Got the countdown going! @harrystyles #harrystyles #music #love #countdown

How to use C+ for vacations

So the last few posts have been about work and school so we wanted to share some tips on vacations. We love seeing all of your vacation countdowns on social media. So we wanted to share with you how you can have a fabulous vacation trip via the app.

Planning

Once you get your friends together and find out a date you all agree on then, you can add those all important dates to the app. Share the event code and don’t forget to make the event public so everyone can countdown with you.

Image Packs

If you are going on several vacations then don’t forget to personalise the countdown with the selection of great images from our image packs. We have a few vacation inspired images to choose from. You could also add your own images or images from Facebook.

Share Event

Once you have all the dates sorted and you finish personalising the event then you should start to share the event on social media which as mentioned a lot of our users do. Twitter we don’t see enough holiday countdowns so do get Sharing via the share buttons on the app.

Past Events

Then a sad feeling of knowing the event is over is not a nice feeling, but you can keep the old events to see how long since an event. This should then spur you on to actually add some new holiday events to the app. The repeat from the top.

We hope this gave you some more ideas on what to do with your vacation countdowns. So get sharing on social as we love seeing your countdowns use #countdown and #countdownplus

Beginner’s guide to Disneyland

We write a lot of Disneyland based blog posts and wanted to share with you a beginner’s guide to Disneyland. We sourced some of the best info we could find on Pinterest and blog sites.

When to attend

So as shared before it’s best to go during term time at school and avoid all national holidays if you can. Bare in mind it is totally down to when is best for you and sometimes visiting during national holidays can be a great time to see special shows and eat some seasonal foods.

Photo opportunity

If you are going to the park with family or friends, please remember not to bring your selfie sticks as these are frowned upon at the park. If whilst at the park for the first time you want to see your favourite Disney characters then, the meet and greet with characters might suit you. You can meet several of your favourite characters.

Tickets

If you want to fast track a lot of rides then we recommend getting yourself a fast pass. For a limited time on rides, you can queue jump and not have to wait hours to get on a ride. This is highly recommended if you are going to get on a ride which is very popular. You can grab tickets at the entrance of rides at the park, you just pay a little extra to queue jump.

Firework Show

Attending a firework show is a must when visiting Disneyland for the first time, or check out the special parades. We want to share the best places to actually view the fireworks which are, the further away you get from the castle the more obstructions will block your view. If you don’t mind setting up camp 2 hours before the show the try and find a spot to sit near the Partners Statue.

Food

There are many food items and always new ones around the seasonal holidays. We have talked about Disneyland items before but a few fan favourites are as follows. The Mickey ears ice cream bar which is so simple but a staple at the parks. Dole whip which sounds amazing and we are yet to enjoy or try the Dole Float. The Mickey Pretzel is a firm favourite for many as a great savoury snack, you can find it at many food carts. We have seen so many gorgeous pictures of the Bacon Mac and Cheese inside from a bread cone which sounds amazing, can be found at the Cars Land. There are much more but these are great, to begin with.

Let us know if you are off to Disneyland in the comments and don’t forget to tag your countdowns or Disneyland countdowns with #countdownplus and #countdown.

Top 3 Music Festivals of 2017

Summer is approaching, and with Coachella been and gone, the summer of music festivals is about to start. With so many and so many booked out already, we wanted to countdown to some of our favourite music festivals. Read on to find out our Top 3 music festivals for 2017.

3.V Festival

It is back for another year in August at Hylands Park and Weston Park for two days. This year is set to be amazing with some amazing headliners such as Pink and JAY Z. With it being a smaller festival, there are plenty of chances to discover brand new music. Not only can you see live music but there will be a comedy tent. The Glee Comedy Tent to be exact, which is great if you want a break from all the non-stop dancing. Tickets have not sold out yet so you still have a chance to attend the festival.

2.Parklife

Parklife is in Heaton Park in Manchester on the 10-11th June. They have a huge lineup this year. Some familiar faces and some new faces. Headliners include The 1975 and Frank Ocean. So this is on the festivals in our line up which has unfortunately begun to sell out. Weekend General Admission and Payment Plans have all sold out, but you get your hands on Saturday and Sunday tickets. They are so many stages to choose from and some great artists it is sure to be a great festival.

1.Reading and Leeds

This is on of the UK’s biggest summer festivals with a new record of the capacity of 90,000 in 2016. Reading and Leeds this year has some brand new headliners and one which caught a lot of attention from the press was Eminem. Kasabian is back as headliners which headlined the festival back in 2012. Muse is headlining as well and headlined twice in the past. With Eminem headlining on Saturday they sold out on Saturday tickets for Reading back in March. But all weekend tickets for Leeds festival have not sold out yet. Not only are there headliners but there is a huge list of artists performing across all three days.

We thought we would include some summer festivals tips we found online. A lot of the time when you attend festivals, travel to the site is always busy, so expect to stay in the car or coach for a while so bring things to keep you occupied. Don’t bring a lot of valuables to the festival keep those safe at home. Do bring a flag or something to help find your tent if you end up camping out. If you are attending any UK festivals then expect the weather to change drastically. So take an extra few items of clothing and don’t forget those wellies. If the festival you are going to has an app then it can be recommended to download it. Some will have lineups and even maps of the festival so you never get lost.

Well, we hope that helps you get a better idea of some of the festivals. Don’t forget to countdown to some of those music festivals and tag them with #countdownplus or #countdown.

Disneyland in 2017

It’s 2017 and it is the start of a brand new year, and that means new attractions at Disneyland parks. So we compiled some of the best new events to come to Disneyland parks this year. Since our Disneyland blog posts do really well with a lot you readers.

Star Wars

A big one for the parks is the release of new transformed Star Wars rides. Star Tours are a 3D experience where you can view some of the locations from the actual movies. Great thrilling ride if you like interactive rides. The big one for Star Wars last year was the Launch Bay attraction which we have mentioned in past Disneyland blog posts. It’s a place where you can see some of the memorabilia from the films. Interact with some characters from the films and get some amazing pictures. If you are looking to attend some shows you are in luck, because there is a Star Wars themed show called Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. If you have younger ones they can be pulled onto the stage and be part of the show, shows run quite a few times a day, but check the app or website for more details.

Guardians of the Galaxy

So, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con last July that a new ride would be coming to the Disneyland Parks. They closed Tower of Terror in January to make way for a Guardians of the Galaxy ride called, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT! So far we have only seen concept art and models of the ride. You will have to wait some more for this ride to come out as it is set for release Summer 2017. The ride is based on the premise that Rocket has escaped captivity, guests then must ride the lift and go on an adventure to find Rocket and break out the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters from captivity.

Main Street Electrical Parade

So the main street parade light show is back and is running for a long period of time throughout 2017. Plenty of chances to see the huge light show as it runs until June 18th After a 20-year hiatus from Disneyland Park, it shows you can not miss. With appearances from characters like Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Pete’s Dragon and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Huge floats which will lead by Engineer Goofy, driving the steaming locomotive with Mickey and Minnie aboard. You can also get a dining package if you want to see the show whilst enjoy your meal then you can at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. To check out timings and locations and wait times then download the app for on the go access.

We hope you enjoyed this blog post if you are going to Disneyland this year then don’t forget to use #countdownplus on all social channels.

Christmas at Disneyland

Christmas is right around the corner and we have seen a few countdowns already of you all going to Disneyland! So just like the Universal Studios Orlando we wanted to share with you some ideas on what to do this Christmas time at the park.

First up is food, and there are plenty of delights to choose from, note there are lots of treats at the park that are Christmas themed. You can choose from over 40 Christmas themed foods at Christmas time, if you head to the restaurants note that they will have a seasonal menu so you can easily find all the items on the menu. Try the Yule Log which is a very light and moreish dessert available at the park, you can choose from a coffee or chocolate flavoured one. It comes in a huge slice, but maybe get a few so you’re not fighting over the yummy dessert. If you are looking to find festive food to warm you up then how about the Turkey pot pie bread bowl, found in the Pacific Wharf Café. Highly recommended by many Disney blogs, and it’s a great meal to dig into on a winters evening. It’s massive so could be great to share amongst two people. Funnel cake is a staple for most at Christmas cake why not try the pineapple upside down funnel cake, found at Hungry Bear Restaurant. It is highly recommended and new for 2016 so why not give it try this year. It’s a shareable dessert and has the right density of a funnel cake.

Let’s talk about the rides and there is an awful lot to see so will just talk about the best rides and shows to see at this time of year. Most popular and a great show to see is the Christmas Fantasy Parade, top tip is to organise when you want to see it and on the day decide to see it night or during the day. It is recommended to go see this show at the first week of December which is next week. It will be busier the week of Christmas and New Years, so don’t forget to organise and add those dates into the app. It’s a great show to see with family, with plenty of classic Disney characters walking around, and Santa makes an appearance of course. A strange ride to go on for this time of year is the Jingle Cruise, normally titled Jungle Cruise, the water ride has been given some of that special Disney Christmas magic. It’s a quirky ride and there a lots of decorations to spot whilst on the ride. A classic Disneyland ride is the It’s A Small World, which gets some Disney Christmas magic. The attraction should be seen during the day and night. You will be able to see a illumination of lights on the building. Also the ride itself has been transformed so it’s a good ride to enjoy with the whole family.

We advised you book in advance and plan ahead as Christmas time is a super busy time of year for Disneyland. Once you do book and have the dates then start inputting the dates of your trip to the app, and don’t forget to add info on rides you want to go to. Does not matter what parks you attend expect queues and a lot of people seeking to watch shows. There are plenty of festive photo opportunities as well, such as Christmas trees across the park and there is a chance to take a picture with Santa himself. Of course one thing you will notice is the magical kingdom will be all light up for Christmas. So take as many pictures as you can, because it will sure to be a magical moment.

That’s it for this Christmas post for Disneyland, we sure hope this helped you out. Don’t forget to use #countdownplus this holiday season.

Halloween at Disneyland

So Halloween is fast approaching and for some that may mean going to Disneyland for Halloween. They do put on quite a show for Halloween so we are offering some advice on what to do at Halloween.

First up on the agenda is attractions around Halloween season. A big hit during the Halloween season is the Haunted Mansion. The Haunted Mansion gets decked out in The Nightmare Before Christmas décor. We recommended sorting out a fast pass for this ride, as it can be really popular at this time of year. Why not go see Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, it’s sure to be a thrill of a ride. The whole ride is pretty immersive and could be great if you want to go as a group. Accompanied with projections onto the building of the ride as well. It much like the Haunted Mansion is a popular spot at this time of year, so get a fast pass for it again. A big attraction at any time of the year is the Tower of Terror, which is soon be closing so be quick to check it out before it gets redone. It will be shutting down in January, so you have plenty time over the festive time to visit it. This will most likely be a big hit over the Halloween as it is shutting down.

Now onto some food, there is so much themed food around the Halloween season. If you are looking for something light then you will find special Vampire Mickey Popcorn holders at a few street stands around the park. Some really crafty Dia de Los Muertos food items come to the park, and you can find a Minnie Dia de Los Muertos Cake Pops. Or if you are looking for something more sweet, then try out the Caramel Apple Poison Apple, it looks amazing and looks so enticing. Made to look like a pumpkin carving it is a very crafty item for this season. Choose from two other caramel apples, Mickey Witch and Jack Skellington. Not many themed drinks really which is odd, cause normally they have good drinks. Maybe check around the restaurants for special cocktails at restaurants.

Shows are going to be the main attraction for this time of year, as a special event for Halloween, you can join in with Mickey’s Halloween Party, this event runs through September and October. See some Fireworks at the park, why not also see the Pyrotechnic fun at the park, so your favourite villains appear in big lights above Sleeping Beauty Castle. We suggest that you get tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party as there is a lot more you can experience, like parades and special performances.

The whole park comes to life at Halloween so do check out the park and spot all the Halloween decorations. Don’t miss out on the big Mickey Pumpkin display, get your photo there since it is a big photo opportunity. Check out the trees, which have Pumpkins hanging from them. The best advice for this season, is book in advance if you know when you are going. Things will book out or you just get stuck in a queue and no one wants that. Also don’t forget to get a few Halloween treats in the shops across the park.

That’s its for the Halloween at Disneyland post, what tips do you would share, let us know in the comments section below.

Halloween Spots in London

Halloween is fast approaching and it is getting us excited. We can’t wait to go out to a few Halloween themed parties and visit some spooky houses. Here are our top spots to visit in London.

London has many exciting events around Halloween, and there are a few things you can do. If you are looking to find a Halloween themed tour, then be sure to go to the Tower of London. Here some spooky stories, and see some gruesome sights. Visit after regular tour ours, and it’s outdoors, so wrap up warm and maybe you might catch a ghost. They are not running the tour until early November, but tickets are on sale right now.

If that isn’t spooky enough for you, why not dare to take a ride on the Ghost Bus Tours. Want to hear the gruesome stories from long before that happened in London? Then Ghost Bus Tours could be for you, making your way past The Houses of Parliament, London Bridge, Westminster Abbey and many more stops.  The bus departs from just off Trafalgar Square on Northumberland Avenue. Why not go with a few friends, or head off with a group of 12 and over. Do you dare to take a seat; the choice is yours.

If you are looking for something to watch, then maybe check out the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the BFI Southbank. The special showing of the movie is to celebrate the 35th Anniversary. If you have seen the movie before, but not at the cinema, then this is a nice alternative to being out in the cold weather. You can also choose to see a shadow cast screening of the movie. Tickets are on sale right now.

Or are you looking to dance the night away at a big Halloween party, why not check out The Seven Deadly Sins Halloween Ball, where you can choose from seven stages spaced with performances running all night. It’s set to be a right spooky affair, so dress up in your finest outfits and be ready to party the night away. There is a photo booth, a cheeky naked feast, have a dance on the dance floor and if you need to take a breather then head to the chill out room. Tickets are on sale right now.
