User Inspired Twitter Music Events 2018

It’s time for a user-inspired post and we have found quite a few music based events appearing on our Twitter timeline from our audience. Read on to find out who got featured this month.

If you are not familiar with our user inspired posts then here is a little catch up on what happens in these posts. We pick 2 amazing countdowns from Twitter or Instagram and give you a little more info on the countdown itself. If it is a countdown to say Ed Sheeran, we give you some news on him and if there are still some tickets left or if it’s a holiday some great tips on where to go and what to see and when to go.

First up is @avonchickmary who is off to see Harry Styles at the start of July. We are hoping if you are reading this you might have some understanding of who Harry Styles is. If not, then here is some insight into who he is. He started his singing career in the boy band One Direction, ever since the band came third in the show the band went on to have global success. For the past 2 years, he has been having tremendous success as solo artist. He went on tour from mid-September last year and his first show in San Francisco, performing his current hits “Sign of the Times” “Two Ghosts and many more new songs. We really love his new material and think he will do amazing as a solo artist. We haven’t heard new material since last year, and we are hoping for new music very soon. He is touring all over the world and has announced more dates on his live tour earlier this month, so if you missed the huge announcement of his tour then you might have a chance to see him.

Secondly is @meghancoyle_ who went to see Demi earlier this month. Demi Lovato is currently performing the first time in Europe on her Tell Me You Love Me Tour. Tell Me You Love Me is the name of her latest album released last year in July. You might have already heard one of her tracks from that album which is Sorry Not Sorry, a very up-tempo dance vibe track which is different from her older material. Lately, we have been seeing some images and footage of her on tour and it looks like an amazing tour. Recently she had to cancel her show in London at the O2 due to health issues. Many of the fans swooped in at her defence and wished her all the best. She has also had to cancel her Manchester gig as well. We wish her all the best on a vocal recovery. Recently she has been releasing more music and her latest song Fall In Line features Christina Aguilera. She performed it live with her on Billboard Music Awards and nailed it. We can’t wait to see more music from her in the near future.

If you want to take part in our user inspired posts all you must do is either tag us in your countdowns, or use #countdown or #countdownplus on your posts.

If you want to change the profile image then head to More – Me, then tap on the pencil icon. You will then see three options, edit profile picture, edit cover image and refresh images.

Thank you for reading this tutorial, we will be releasing more tutorials very soon. If you have any questions about the app then message us on Facebook. Check out the original video here.

User Inspired May Edition

We have decided to create the User Inspired posts once a month on our blog. If you do want to get featured on this blog or on our social media channels then tag us in your countdowns. Read on two find out what events we are talking about today.

First up is @_spikeyboy is going to a lot of events this year but we wanted to highlight the Emma Blackery gig in October. Emma Blackery started her main YouTube channel “Emma Blackery” back in May 2012 with the main purpose to post vlogs, comedy sketches and other content. Her main passion has always been music, and over the years has released a few EP’s such as Distance and Human Behaviour. Lately, she has changed up her music style and been delivering a lot more a fresh pop sound. She has previously toured with Busted on their Pigs Can Fly Tour back in 2016 as a special guest. Now she is back with a brand new music and has recently released Dirt and Agenda. She is set to be working on a brand new album as well. To coincide with the release of her new music she is heading back out on tour but on a solo tour in October. Tickets are still available so go grab them whilst you still can.

Second is @pianohowells who has gone to see Dan and Phil live on tour a few days ago on their Interactive Introverts tour. Dan Howell and Phil Lester are two friends who met through YouTube and forged a very successful career out of making YouTube videos. Both have separate channels and have a joint gaming channel, and they have over 10 million subscribers with both their personal channels put together. They have done a live stage show back in 2016 called The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire and was also turned into a YouTube Red series. It was a wonderful mix of what happened at their shows and the BTS look at their life on the road. The stage show was a brilliant mix of the regular things that happened in their videos but on a larger scale in front of thousands of people on stage. Nothing has really been revealed yet about what the shows have been like, much like on their last tour we reckon they have asked the audience to not spoil it for others. It might just be bigger and better than the last live stage show from 2016. This tour will take them all across the world, so wherever you are reading this, they could be on a stage just near you. Tickets can be found on sale here.

So that is it for May, check back in next month to see what user events we are enjoying. If you want to take part in our user inspired posts all you must do is either tag us in your countdowns, or use #countdown or #countdownplus on your posts.

May Update

Over the last month, we have been working hard on getting new releases out both for Android and iOS. Please read on to find out what to expect very soon.

First up on the agenda is iOS one main issue we have seen from a lot of users is the multiple push notification the day of an event. (pictured below) We have fixed this issue for the next release due very soon. Many users over time have expressed their feelings about the image cropping screen. This has been revamped to fit with the similar style of how images are cropped within the camera roll. If you are an iPad user then you will be delighted to know that we have re-enabled image cropping on iPad. One last feature to point out is that on the lite version on iOS you can now choose dates further than 1000 days ahead and behind can now be added. Check out your updates tab on the App Store.

Android will be updated after iOS comes out. We have a few plans to update the app. There are like with most updates a few bugs that do need fixing. One bug which is to do with some lagging that has been occurring in the app. Some bug to do with the fact that images just don’t seem to be sticking. For us, those are the two main focuses for the next update.

If you are experiencing any issues or come across anything wrong in the app please message us on Facebook. Check back in this time next month for another update. Here is last months one.

Android Version 4.0

In this blog tutorial we will show you what you can expect on the full version of the app. This tutorial is for Android only.

So recently we updated the app to Version 4.03 and we have made some changes to what you can get in the full version.

In order to see what features we do offer, for faster reference then head to the menu button (three lines) upgrades and then at top it has all the details.

First up just like Version 3.0 we don’t have any ads on it, that’s on all screens of the app.

Backup your countdowns and sync to any device, whether that be from iPhone to Android, Android to Android, Android to iPhone. This means that when you log in via email or FB all your countdowns are safe and backed up to our cloud system. Safe if you change phones or change to different platforms.

World Traveller mode which lets you view holidays from around the world. Add a national holiday from any country and add to your timeline.

Countdown in years, months and weeks. Just like before in Version 3.0 you can countdown to more increments of time on all your countdowns. Very handy if your countdown is a year away.

Thank you for reading this tutorial, we will be releasing more tutorials very soon. If you have any questions about the app then message us on Facebook. Check out the original video here.

User Inspired Music Events for 2018

We love seeing a lot more countdowns from Twitter from our users. Read on to see what events we are talking about.

First up is @hazeldrummer who is off to see 5SOS in Melbourne and Sydney in May. 5SOS are made up of 4 boys Luke, Michael, Calum and Ashton, it all started for them back in Australia in 2011 when they posted covers of songs on YouTube and hit the big time when they headlined for One Direction. 5 seconds of summer have been absent for around 2 years now. Finally, we were teased with a new single and news of a new tour this year. Want You Back is their first single from their new album Young Blood. The sound of this song is very different compared to their old material, a much more mature sound. We truly are in love with their music video for Want You Back and we can’t wait to hear more music in the future from them. 5SOS have over 4 million YouTube subscribers and their latest single Want You Back has over 6 million views. Their most successful single was She Looks So Perfect back in 2014 which gained them the No. 1 spot in 5 different charts. Their tickets for their tour in April – June are sold out but their Meet You Their tour tickets will be released today. This tour includes touring across America from August till October. Check out their tour dates here.

Secondly is @kemalh1 who is off to see Dua Lipa in April again for the fourth time. Dua Lipa has been getting hugely successful as of the past several years. We were obsessed with her New Rules song she released last year, the music video has been seen over 3 million times on YouTube. It is also her first song to hit the number one spot in the UK. Currently, she has been touring the world with her The Self Titled Tour across the UK and Europe in 2017 and 2018. If you are recently discovering her music then she might be a great act to watch live. She really is killing it right now with her New Rules song, every day she gets millions of more views on the music video and it’s going platinum in some countries. We haven’t thought about seeing her live but it sounds like a great experience.

If you want to take part in our user inspired posts all you must do is either tag us in your countdowns, or use #countdown or #countdownplus on your posts.

April Update

We are aiming to update on the progress of the app now once a month, we feel it’s better if we update more frequently. If you want to find out what we are working on this month and beyond, please keep reading.

March was a busy month for us trying to solve the App Icon Countdown feature. As of now we do have a replacement feature which is a silent notification which is sent at midnight every night. This shows you how many days till an event and is called the Daily Count Notifications. You can see how the notification works in the image below.

A lot of users want a Today Widget and we understand that this is a big request and has been for several years now. We do want to create a Today Widget but it’s not something we can create in a short space of time. This feature is on our list of things to do for the app.

We understand a lot of you are very upset that the feature has gone but we have seen a surge in poor reviews within the App Store. As noted before in a statement released online we didn’t have any control over this feature being taken away. We would really appreciate it if you directed your anger about this to Apple via email or Twitter. Unfortunately leaving 1-star reviews does not help us at all, as it lowers our ranking within the App Store.

Android was held back since we had to deal with the removal of the App Icon Countdown feature for iPhone. We have recently sent out a new update for Android, we are expecting to release another update very soon. This will likely help to fix any minor issues.

In terms of general issues, we currently are aware that our servers went down last week. We did manage to get things back up and running for everyone. If you are experiencing any issues or come across anything wrong in the app please message us on Facebook.
