We have another video tutorial turned into a blog post for you. For this blog tutorial, you will find out about the new event features on Version 4.0. This is for iOS only. This was our top answer from our Twitter poll so thanks for voting.
When updating Version 4.0 we have added a few new features when you add an event. You can now add who views your events. So change the Privacy, and select from 2 options. Me Only and Public. When you choose the new event feature you no longer have to add an end date to it. Say for example you are counting down to an event in a different country then you can now choose the time zone.
Appearance and style have been simplified. You will find all the editing tools for your countdowns on here now. Why not add a Location to your countdown, and if there is a link which you want to be attached to the event then now you can.
Thank you for reading this tutorial, we will be releasing more tutorials very soon. If you have any questions about the app then message us on Facebook. Check out the original video here.
We write a lot of Disneyland based blog posts and wanted to share with you a beginner’s guide to Disneyland. We sourced some of the best info we could find on Pinterest and blog sites.
When to attend
So as shared before it’s best to go during term time at school and avoid all national holidays if you can. Bare in mind it is totally down to when is best for you and sometimes visiting during national holidays can be a great time to see special shows and eat some seasonal foods.
If you are going to the park with family or friends, please remember not to bring your selfie sticks as these are frowned upon at the park. If whilst at the park for the first time you want to see your favourite Disney characters then, the meet and greet with characters might suit you. You can meet several of your favourite characters.
If you want to fast track a lot of rides then we recommend getting yourself a fast pass. For a limited time on rides, you can queue jump and not have to wait hours to get on a ride. This is highly recommended if you are going to get on a ride which is very popular. You can grab tickets at the entrance of rides at the park, you just pay a little extra to queue jump.
Attending a firework show is a must when visiting Disneyland for the first time, or check out the special parades. We want to share the best places to actually view the fireworks which are, the further away you get from the castle the more obstructions will block your view. If you don’t mind setting up camp 2 hours before the show the try and find a spot to sit near the Partners Statue.
There are many food items and always new ones around the seasonal holidays. We have talked about Disneyland items before but a few fan favourites are as follows. The Mickey ears ice cream bar which is so simple but a staple at the parks. Dole whip which sounds amazing and we are yet to enjoy or try the Dole Float. The Mickey Pretzel is a firm favourite for many as a great savoury snack, you can find it at many food carts. We have seen so many gorgeous pictures of the Bacon Mac and Cheese inside from a bread cone which sounds amazing, can be found at the Cars Land. There are much more but these are great, to begin with.
Let us know if you are off to Disneyland in the comments and don’t forget to tag your countdowns or Disneyland countdowns with #countdownplus and #countdown.
We love creating user inspired posts and for this week’s post, it’s all about Summer Holidays. We found 2 of our recent favourite countdowns from Instagram and gathered some fun facts and things to do in those countries.
First up we have @mikailapatt who is off to Gran Canaria in June this year. Gran Canaria is a stunning place, if you just type “Gran Canaria” into Pinterest you will see a sea of images that show off the stunning scenery. There are lots of beaches and plenty of mountains to trek as well. If you are just after a peaceful beach holiday then it is perfect for that kind of holiday. With about 9 different beaches to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice. If however, you want to venture into the ocean you can by taking some boat trips and more specifically the Aphrodite Cruise, which you can take from Puerto Rico. If you fancy a trek then it is recommended to hire a car to visit Teja which is in the middle of the mountain island. There is so much to see it would be hard to whittle it down into a blog post so check Pinterest and some blog sites for tips on what to do. The island is perfect any time of year so whether you visit in Summer or in Winter you will be guaranteed to get hot weather. It is the ideal hiking holiday since there are so many caves and mountains to visit.
Now we have @jesssymarshall who is off to Bulgaria in June this year. This user’s timeline looked busy but we fell in love with the idea of going to Bulgaria. If you just Pinterest search Bulgaria you get beautiful scenery shots and plenty of travel blog links on what to do. So we dug into a few of them and picked a few things you could do whilst out on holiday in Bulgaria. Apparently, June is a great time to head to Bulgaria as it has the best weather during that month and in September. Believe it or not, you can also go skiing in December through to March who knew. When we searched a popular destination to visit in Bulgaria is Sofia which is the capital of Bulgaria. There is a whole lot of history to see whilst in the capital and there are a huge amount of museums to head to. One museum which comes up in a lot of photos is the Largo Open Air Museum where you can relics of the past. Lastly let’s briefly mention food, apparently, Bulgarians love a good sit down meal with plenty to eat. So expect to spend a lot of time eating as well as exploring the city it is the perfect way to get back some energy. Plus it is relatively cheap compared to prices in other European countries so you get your money worth in terms of portion sizes.
We hope you enjoyed another wonderful user inspired blog post, we love to see your countdowns on social media so don’t forget to tag your countdowns with #countdown and #countdownplus so we can like them.
Summer is approaching, and with Coachella been and gone, the summer of music festivals is about to start. With so many and so many booked out already, we wanted to countdown to some of our favourite music festivals. Read on to find out our Top 3 music festivals for 2017.
It is back for another year in August at Hylands Park and Weston Park for two days. This year is set to be amazing with some amazing headliners such as Pink and JAY Z. With it being a smaller festival, there are plenty of chances to discover brand new music. Not only can you see live music but there will be a comedy tent. The Glee Comedy Tent to be exact, which is great if you want a break from all the non-stop dancing. Tickets have not sold out yet so you still have a chance to attend the festival.
Parklife is in Heaton Park in Manchester on the 10-11th June. They have a huge lineup this year. Some familiar faces and some new faces. Headliners include The 1975 and Frank Ocean. So this is on the festivals in our line up which has unfortunately begun to sell out. Weekend General Admission and Payment Plans have all sold out, but you get your hands on Saturday and Sunday tickets. They are so many stages to choose from and some great artists it is sure to be a great festival.
1.Reading and Leeds
This is on of the UK’s biggest summer festivals with a new record of the capacity of 90,000 in 2016. Reading and Leeds this year has some brand new headliners and one which caught a lot of attention from the press was Eminem. Kasabian is back as headliners which headlined the festival back in 2012. Muse is headlining as well and headlined twice in the past. With Eminem headlining on Saturday they sold out on Saturday tickets for Reading back in March. But all weekend tickets for Leeds festival have not sold out yet. Not only are there headliners but there is a huge list of artists performing across all three days.
We thought we would include some summer festivals tips we found online. A lot of the time when you attend festivals, travel to the site is always busy, so expect to stay in the car or coach for a while so bring things to keep you occupied. Don’t bring a lot of valuables to the festival keep those safe at home. Do bring a flag or something to help find your tent if you end up camping out. If you are attending any UK festivals then expect the weather to change drastically. So take an extra few items of clothing and don’t forget those wellies. If the festival you are going to has an app then it can be recommended to download it. Some will have lineups and even maps of the festival so you never get lost.
Well, we hope that helps you get a better idea of some of the festivals. Don’t forget to countdown to some of those music festivals and tag them with #countdownplus or #countdown.
