Lite Version 4.0

We have another video tutorial turned into a blog post for you. In this blog tutorial, we will show you what to expect on the lite version of the app. This tutorial is for ios only. As mentioned in our previous blog post we will be showing you a side by side comparison of what is different between the full and lite version.

With the lite version obviously, you have ads running on all the pages of the app.

You can’t actually backup your countdowns on the lite version, any events that you do make won’t be logged to our servers. So it is recommended to get the full version so that when you do switch phones, you can load all your countdowns, whether you sign in via email or Facebook.

You won’t be able to check out the holidays from other countries in the Holidays tab. You can only see national holidays in the country you are in.

Just like in Version 3.0 you won’t be able to countdown in years, months or weeks, only in days, months, minutes and seconds.

Thanks for reading this tutorial if you have any questions about the app then message us on Facebook. To watch the original video then click here

User Inspired Holiday Spots

We are back again with another user inspired event for you all today. This post will show off 2 of our favourite holiday countdowns.

First up is @franwilliams123 with their holiday to Barcelona in just over a months time. Barcelona is a great place to visit any time of year, but especially in the summer months throughout June to September, you can expect sunny weather. There are plenty of iconic places to visit in Barcelona so we will just pick some of our favourite places. One of the most iconic buildings which are still being built on after so many years is the Sagrada Familia. Its structure is something to admire and is just stunning to view. Inside the Sagrada Familia is a beautiful display of light and is one not to be missed if you do go to Barcelona. Another great spot to visit is Park Güell with its vibrant mosaic tiles. It’s quite the hike to get to and now does charge you a fair price to enter the park. So expect a queue but the wait is all worth it, with its vibrant colours and a great place to take many photos. Exploring the Passeig de Gràcia is truly magical. It bodes to be one of the most famous and interesting buildings of the modernist era. Another one of Gaudi’s masterpieces in Barcelona. Worth the visit right to the top of the building for some stunning views of Barcelona.

So second and the last countdown for this post is from user @riastivala who is going to Sydney in just over a months time. Sydney is a stunning place to visit and has so much to offer. One place we have to mention since it’s hugely popular is the Sydney Opera House. A place with is bursting with arts and culture, best to check before you travel to find out what is going on inside, but you can roam the grounds freely and perfect for taking some pictures of your travels. If you are looking to stroll around a stunning park then you should take a stroll in the Royal Botanic Gardens. A 30-hectare parkland in the heart of Sydney. Open all year round but do check before travel to make sure it’s open when you wish to go. A popular place recommended online by many is the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which is an international landmark of Australia. It is a must see place if you want to take in some stunning views of Sydney. Or if you are after somewhere to relax and take a dip in the ocean then Bondi Beach may be the place for you. Famous for its soft talc sand.

We hope this post gave you some holiday inspiration and do tag your countdowns on social media by using #countdownplus.

Disneyland in 2017

It’s 2017 and it is the start of a brand new year, and that means new attractions at Disneyland parks. So we compiled some of the best new events to come to Disneyland parks this year. Since our Disneyland blog posts do really well with a lot you readers.

Star Wars

A big one for the parks is the release of new transformed Star Wars rides. Star Tours are a 3D experience where you can view some of the locations from the actual movies. Great thrilling ride if you like interactive rides. The big one for Star Wars last year was the Launch Bay attraction which we have mentioned in past Disneyland blog posts. It’s a place where you can see some of the memorabilia from the films. Interact with some characters from the films and get some amazing pictures. If you are looking to attend some shows you are in luck, because there is a Star Wars themed show called Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. If you have younger ones they can be pulled onto the stage and be part of the show, shows run quite a few times a day, but check the app or website for more details.

Guardians of the Galaxy

So, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con last July that a new ride would be coming to the Disneyland Parks. They closed Tower of Terror in January to make way for a Guardians of the Galaxy ride called, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT! So far we have only seen concept art and models of the ride. You will have to wait some more for this ride to come out as it is set for release Summer 2017. The ride is based on the premise that Rocket has escaped captivity, guests then must ride the lift and go on an adventure to find Rocket and break out the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters from captivity.

Main Street Electrical Parade

So the main street parade light show is back and is running for a long period of time throughout 2017. Plenty of chances to see the huge light show as it runs until June 18th After a 20-year hiatus from Disneyland Park, it shows you can not miss. With appearances from characters like Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Pete’s Dragon and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Huge floats which will lead by Engineer Goofy, driving the steaming locomotive with Mickey and Minnie aboard. You can also get a dining package if you want to see the show whilst enjoy your meal then you can at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. To check out timings and locations and wait times then download the app for on the go access.

We hope you enjoyed this blog post if you are going to Disneyland this year then don’t forget to use #countdownplus on all social channels.

Top 4 Cheap Ideas for your dorm room

So many of you will be back to University/College for 2017, and some of you may be looking for cheap ways to liven up your dorm room/university room. So we complied 4 of our favourite ideas we found on the web.

Storage Boxes

If you weren’t the best at having a tidy room before, then maybe invest in some storage boxes. Plastic coloured ones are usually the best to hide under the bed or to add to your room. They are also a great way to tidy up anything you may have from festive period.

Fairy Lights

Nearly every pin we saw on Pinterest had a picture with a set of fairy lights. You can buy them from nearly anywhere, and the plus side they can be cheap. If you have a headboard for your bed, then you can wind it around the frame of the headboard. Or alternatively, if you have a book case on the wall hang it from there. You could buy some sticky clips to use so the lights stay up.

Wall Tapestry

This seems very popular on Pinterest to, so if you want an Instagram room then this may add some colour to your room. Since hanging wall art on the wall can get you into trouble. Why not grab some cheap wall art, have a look around a few sites to find something you like, which will add colour to your plain dorm room/university room.

Add some more colour to your room with a gorgeous rug. You don’t have to buy the most expensive rug on the market. There are some great options in homeware stores and you can add some colour and your own style to your room.

We hope these 4 ideas gave you some idea on what to do for your dorm room.
