We are back again for another blog post tutorial. This blog tutorial will help you understand event codes in Version 4.0. This blog tutorial is for iOS only.
Much like the following your friend’s events feature. You can now follow specific countdowns from your friends or family. First of all, make sure the countdown you would like to see on your timeline is actually public. So to change the setting of that on an existing countdown. Tap on an event from your timeline. Then the gear icon, and make sure where it says Privacy, that it actually is set to public. Then press done. Next tap on the note icon, there it will give you a unique Event code. Write it down or screenshot the screen for reference.
On your friend’s phone have them go to the plus button, then see at the top of the app It says event code or @username. You can type in the event code, you will see a pop-up appear asking if the specific event is what you want to add to the timeline. It will bring you straight to the event on your timeline. Now you are following your friend’s events.
Thank you for reading this tutorial, we will be releasing more tutorials very soon. If you have any questions about the app then message us on Facebook. Check out the original video here.
Christmas is just around the corner and we wanted to share with you the best advice we could find on the internet about having a great time at Universal Studios over the Christmas period.
At Universal Studios there are a lot of Christmas based events happening in the park. First up, a must see at this time and you may have seen many pictures of it, is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It gets turned into a snowy wonderland. You will be able to see the snow on the rooftops of Hogsmeade. Whilst you are there, to enjoy this part of the park why not get a hot Butterbeer. Which you can find at the food stalls in this part of the park.
A big must and recommended by many people online is to see the Grinchmas Who-holiday Spectacular. It is a Christmas tradition for the park and is most popular for everyone who goes at this time of year. The show runs throughout the December month and makes sure you book before you go so you don’t miss out on this big spectacular. The whole part of Seuss Landing is very festive with plenty of festive decorations. You may notice lots of quotes from the movie and books amongst the trees.
Another big attraction to see is the Macy’s Holiday Parade, this is the perfect opportunity to see the exact same floats used in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Be sure to check this spectacular parade, as it is a truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. See the parade come to life towards the end of the day, do check online for when it is best to see the parade, you don’t have to book for this parade at all. Also be sure to stay to the very end as you might see a special appearance from Santa Claus himself.
So that concludes our tips for Universal Orlando for the Christmas period, there are plenty of things to see and do there. Don’t forget to tag your countdowns this festive season by using #countdownplus on all channels.

Christmas time is just around the corner and we are seeing a lot of your countdowns for the winter season right now. We love your countdowns so much and for this user inspired post it’s all about Christmas time.
First up is from Instagram user @amber_scullion who is going to France next month. Risoul is situated between the towns of Briançon and Gap. It is classed as a great intermediate ski resort for any keen skiers. Not really recommended for any beginner skiers. As a ski resort, it’s not seen as a very popular resort and there are some good slopes available. If you aren’t looking for much a challenge, then this place could be for you. It is a great place if you are thinking of taking family since it is very kid friendly. The town has a lovely traditional chalet style mixed with modern builds as well, the whole town has a welcoming atmosphere. If you are looking to take a break from skiing then do sit down on the terrace of the restaurants you will get a stunning view of the slopes and the lovely woods behind the alps. There is a wide range of options for hotels or chalets to stay in. Either stay in rented accommodation or stick with hotels located in the village of Risoul. If you wanted to stay further out of town you can do that too. We reckon that a chalet or hotel would be the best option, best to stay within the town if your main aim is to ski every day.
Secondly is from Instagram user @sofinalou who is going to Dublin in early December. December is the great time to visit Dublin, Christmas lights are all switched on and the markets start to open up along the high streets. If you want to experience the Dublin Christmas magic, then head on over to The Christmas Village in CHQ Custom House Quarter in Dublin. Designed to feel like an Irish Christmas village, there you will be able to enjoy some of the finest Irish delights. With over 50 market stalls to choose from you will be spoilt for choice. If you are looking to do something other than Christmas based events then you can, of course, check out the Guinness Storehouse, a huge choice for a lot of tourists and loved by many. There are plenty whisky distilleries in the town to visit so you will be spoilt for choice. A very interesting an historic part of Dublin would be the Kilmainham Gaol prisons. It is listed as one of the best places to go to by Trip Advisor. Located not far from the Guinness Storehouse it is a place with so much history and plenty of stories from across many years. Of course, if you are planning on checking out a few gardens then do check out Phoenix Park, so much to do in this park. The Zoo is located inside the park and if you want to see the wild deer inside the park then head to the huge prairie. It is a beautiful park and a great place to just wander freely.
So that’s it for this user inspired a post for Christmas things to do. We want to know what events you are counting down to, so use the #countdownplus on all social channels.
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, now that Halloween is out of the way. We wanted to compile a blog post with a few hints and tips on what to do this Thanksgiving, we got you covered from food to games. So let’s get started.
Well of course if you need to get organised with your Thanksgiving dinner then you might need to get things organised. Why not start by adding a countdown into the app for your Thanksgiving dinner, maybe share the event with your friends so they don’t forget about it.
Decorations are a great way to bring a bit of atmosphere to your Thanksgiving dinner party. You don’t really need to go all out with your decorations. You could decorate the dining room table with a few centrepieces. Get a few large candles in glass jars, and place a few of them across the table. Could get a few pine cones and decorate a few with some paint and glitter and place them along with the big candles in the middle of the table. Then you fill the table a bit more, why not then add a bit of extra fragrance to the table by placing autumn coloured flowers to some mason jars on the main table. You could get a few mason jars and make a few arrangements in your home. For table placements why not use some leaves and up do them, by spray painting them and writing on the person’s name. As a little extra, why not place cards on each plate so that everyone can write what they were thankful for this year.
Let’s talk exciting food for the evening, usually for Thanksgiving cooking Turkey is a must. So we recommend a few added extras for the dinner meal. For sides why not try making Bacon Wrapped Stuffing Bites, gives an extra flavour to stuffing and it is sometimes hard to do something fun with stuffing. Mash can always feel a bit plain so why not give a go at adding some parmesan and for that extra crunch add some bread crumbs. Instead of the ordinary mac and cheese why not try and put the finished meal in the oven, to make it extra crispy think of a pasta bake but for mac and cheese. For dessert instead of the traditional pumpkin pie opt for a Salted Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake, a nice take on the traditional dessert for thanksgiving.
For a few party ideas, if you want to do more than just eat and be with family games always help. Why not get a pumpkin and a few glow in the dark sticks and play ring toss over the top of the pumpkin, nice festive ideas? A great idea for dinner conversation is leaving some thanksgiving question cards on the table a few serious and a few silly ones. A take on the classic pin the tail on the turkey then why not pin the tail on the turkey. You can find a few free printable on Pinterest for that game.
So that’s it for this Thanksgiving post, just a few ideas, we linked a few recipes above, so you can make that Thanksgiving night one to remember for years to come. Don’t forget to share your countdowns by using the #countdownplus on all social channels.
